Abbitt praised their “unselfish devotion to the cause of good Democratic government in Virginia” and spoke out against “outsiders who have been brought in to extoll our opponents.” Abbitt emphasized the Commonwealth’s “phenomenal” economic growth and credited the state Democratic Party for fostering it.
